Poems by R.Tagore

The very reason to display the poems by R. Tagore is the awareness, rather unawareness, i can say, about his compositions. Although, his compositions involved a deep rooted, universal and certain kind vivacious thinking, sometimes the mango man (Aam aadmi aka common man) becomes inevitably handicapped to sip the hidden ideas or to grasp their true sense.

Nevertheless, there are not all of those which deserves the same treatment. displaying below are some of my favorite compos from my collection over the period of time I know the Legend.

This is an appropriate occassion of Independence Day of India to share them with you guys.

Hope you like them.

GRANT ME
Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be
fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain but for the
heart to conquer it.

Let me not look for allies in life's battlefield but to
my own strength.

Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved but
hope for the patience to win my freedom.

Grant me that I may not be coward, feeling your mercy
in my success alone; but let me find the
grasp of your hand in my failure.

-Rabindranath Tagore

LET MY COUNTRY AWAKE

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where the words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action --
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

-Rabindranath Tagore
